It happened about 10 years ago. It was an ordinary day and it seemed nothing special could happen. I was going home, when I saw an accident. The boy, who was my friend’s brother, dashed into the street and the passing car ran him down. The worst thing was that the driver didn’t stop; he just left the boy lying on the road. I was shocked. I hurried to the boy’s home to inform his sister while another eye-witness of the accident called the emergency medical service.
Fortunately, when we came back, the doctor had checked the boy. He said that the boy’s heartbeat was weak and he had a slight concussion, several bruises and scratches. All in all, I felt relieved that the boy’s state of health was satisfactory and pleased to have informed his sister.
