I was a new kid at my school, and I did not know anybody. People were making fun of my nose and how it looks. I felt defenseless and hopeless. Then one kid that barely knew me came to my assistance. He stood up for me and defended me. I felt very grateful. We became best friends, but he moved. Four years later, in fifth grade, I saw a new kid being picked on. It made me think of myself and how my friend came to my aid. So I stuck up for him. He had that same grateful look in his face, just like I had when I met a real friend and supporter.
