Every Thursday I teach a class of preschoolers gymnastics. I love those kids. One girl is especially sweet, and she tries really hard. However, this same child is a little bit klutzier than the other kids. One day, I took the class to the balance beam. It was this little girl’s turn and she stepped on the beam the in the highest relevé I have ever seen from a little kid. She smiled and walked across the beam, never dropping the high toe. As she walked, I praised her, telling her how nice she looked, and how good she did. I was so proud of her, that she did something so well. When she jumped off the end she looked up at me and smiled. It was a small difference that not many people would notice, but for me it was a Magical Moment.
